Jammu, Dec 2: J&K Police recovered 40 lost and stolen android phones, worth Rs 8.16 lakh, in Kathua district.

“Police recovered 40 lost and stolen android mobile phones, including 1 Apple iPhone 11 Pro, with purchase value of approximately Rs 8,16,000 for which missing complaints were registered in various Police Stations of district Kathua,” SSP Kathua Shobhit Saxena stated in a presser on Monday.

“These phones have been recovered by the dedicated professional team of IT Section DPO Kathua by using technical assistance from different areas of J&K (including Kathua, Jammu and Udhampur districts) as well as from adjoining Punjab state,” SSP said.

Later, SSP Saxena joined by Additional SP Kathua Rahul Charak, DySP DAR Kathua Subash Chander and other officers handed over these recovered mobile handsets to their rightful owners after proper verifications.

On receiving their missing or lost mobiles phones, the owners felt elated and expressed their gratitude to Police and especially to SSP Kathua for his arduous efforts and guidance in tracing out missing mobiles.

“So far, 176 missing mobiles have been recovered costing around Rs 20 lakh. Any valuable or vital information regarding any issue, locals can contact on the numbers 100 or 09858034100 (PCR Kathua),” SSP said.
