4 weeks since candidates’ interaction, no headway in Chairman JKBOSE, Director SCERT appointment

Srinagar, May 6: There seems to be no headway in the appointment of Chairman JK Board of School Education (JKBOSE) and Director SCERT despite the passage of one month since the Search Committee held interaction with the shortlisted candidates.

As already reported by this newspaper, the Search Committee constituted by the J&K Government on April 4 held interaction of the candidates shortlisted for the post of Chairman JKBOSE and Director J&K State Council of Educational Research and Trainings (SCERT).

The interaction was held at civil Secretariat Jammu wherein the search committee headed by its chairman interacted with the 15 candidates shortlisted for the post of Chairman JKBOSE and Director SCERT.

The Search Committee was reconstituted in December last year for recommending the panel of the candidates for the appointment as Chairman JKBOSE and the Director J&K SCERT. Talking to Greater Kashmir, Additional Chief Secretary (Financial Commissioner) School Education Department (SED) Shantmanu said that the panel of three candidates for the post of Chairman JKBOSE and Director SCERT has been submitted to the government. “The panel has been already submitted and the process is going on,” Shantmanu told Greater Kashmir.

The Search committee was headed by Administrative Secretary Agricultural Production Department as its chairman while the Administrative Secretary of School Education Department (SED), GAD and Higher Education Department (HED) are its members. The other two members of the search committee include Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir (KU) and Vice Chancellor University of Jammu (JU).

Presently, Financial Commissioner Education Department Shantmanu is holding the additional charge of Chairman JKBOSE and Director SCERT, in addition to his own duties.

Shantmanu said that the file has been already discussed at the administrative level and after completing the requisite process, the file will be submitted to the J&K Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha for the final selection of the candidates for the post of Chairman JKBOSE and Director SCERT.

“The process is in its final stage and we are hopeful that the final selection will be done within this month,” he told Greater Kashmir.
