4 vehicles involved in illegal mining seized in Poonch
Poonch, Nov 24: Police in Poonch district Monday seized four vehicles, including two heavy trucks involved in illegal mining.
Police stated that in action against illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, teams seized two dumpers and two tractor trolleys found involved in illegal mining activities within the jurisdiction of the district.
Acting on specific inputs, police said, the teams from District Police Poonch conducted surprise checking at multiple locations.
During the inspection, the vehicles loaded with illegally extracted material were intercepted and seized on the spot as they were operating without valid permission and in violation of mining regulations.
Following the action, the Mining Department was formally informed for necessary further proceedings under the provisions of the law.
“District Police Poonch remain committed to curbing illegal mining and ensuring the protection of natural resources,” a spokesperson said.
Police urged the people to refrain from engaging in any form of illegal mining and to report such activities to their nearest Police Station.
