4 security personnel injured in Billawar accident

Jammu, Sep 10: Four security personnel, who were part of the advance party to escort the Union Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh at a public rally in Kathua district, sustained injuries after their vehicle overturned on the way to Billawar on Tuesday.

A Police Spokesperson said, “The advance party, consisting of 10 personnel of F/220 Bn (Dett ) under command Inspector GD Satish Kumar left from Preet Nagar, Gangyal camp at 3.28 am to provide escort to  Jitendra Singh at a public meeting-cum-rally at Billawar in Kathua district.”

“Around 6:35 am, one of the escort vehicles met with an accident due to a burst of front tyres of the vehicle (Innova). During this accident, four Head Constables namely Jaiveer Singh, Yudhveer Singh, Suresh Patil and Mohinder Singh sustained injuries,” the Police Spokesperson said.

“Among them, Head Constable Jaiveer Singh got a major injury on his fingers. First aid and dressing was provided to all,” he said.
