4 minors forced into child labour rescued at Tikri
Udhampur, June 3: District Rescue team for child labour/child Marriage/child abuse today rescued 4 children forced in child labour here at Tikri area of district Udhampur.
The drive, conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Saloni Rai and SSP Joginder Singh, was led by Assistant Labour Commissioner Sapna and District Child Protection Officer Kanika Gupta. The District rescue team conducted surprise inspection of shops, Restaurants and Rehri stalls in the Tikri area and rescued 4 minors.
Child helpline coordinator, Harikrishan, CDPO Udhampur, Outreach worker DCPU, Case worker CHL, Medical Staff, Police personnel along with lady police constables were part of the rescue team.
The rescued boys were produced before CWC for rehabilitation and were provided temporary shelter in Palaash (child care Institute for boys) Udhampur. The establishments employing underage children will be booked under Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act 1986.
