4 killed, 6 injured in 2 separate road accidents in Kishtwar , Jammu

Ramban, Oct 23: Four persons were killed and six others were injured in two separate road accidents in Kishtwar and Jammu districts on Wednesday.

Police sources said two persons died on spot while six others sustained critical injuries after a light passenger vehicle (TaTa Sumo) met with an accident at Chasoti area in SubDivision, Padder of Kishtwar district on Wednesday afternoon.

They said that a Sumo bearing registration number JK17- 7378 on its way towards Gulabarg from Chasoti in subdivision Padder of Kishtwar skidded off the road and fell into a gorge resulting in on spot death of two persons and injuries to six others.

They said the injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Atholi , Padder for treatment. Police identified the two deceased persons as Akshay Kumar son of Bansi Lal and Parveen Kumar son of Bal Krushan both residents of Chasoti, Paddar.

They identified the six injured persons as Shri Kant son of Roshan Lal, Akshay Kumar son of Mast Ram, Pawan Singh son of Hari Krishan, Kuldeep Singh son of Daljeet Singh, Jewan Singh son of Manohar Lal and Vijay Kumar son of Hushyar Singh all residents of Chasoti, Paddar.

A health department official informed that after providing medical aid at Sub District Hospital, Atholi four critically injured persons shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for specialized treatment.

Earlier two NEET aspirants riding a motorcycle were killed after being run over by a truck on the Sidhra bridge of Jammu on Wednesday morning.

Police identified both the deceased as Towheed Wani, resident of Rajouri and Mehrun Nissa resident of Bhadrawah, District Doda, both in their early twenties.

They said the incident on Tuesday night when both the students travelling on Motorcycle skidded on the road while crossing Sidhra, Bridge and both were run over by a truck resulting in instant death of rider and pillion.

They said bodies of both the deceased students were handed over to their families for last rites after completion of postmortem and other formalities at Government Medical College Hospital Jammu on Wednesday morning.

They said the truck driver was taken into custody and a case has been registered for further investigation, officials added.
