Jammu, Jan 2: Four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of AGMUT cadre (erstwhile J&K cadre) have been promoted to IGP grade while two others have been elevated to DIG grade.

Besides, two IPS officers of erstwhile J&K (AGMUT) cadre have been promoted to Selection Grade.

Vivek Gupta, Sunil Gupta, Sujit Kumar and Mohd Suleiman Choudhary, all IPS officers of erstwhile J&K (now AGMUT) cadre of 2007 batch, were among 14 officers promoted to IGP grade by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

“In pursuance to the recommendations of the Screening Committee in its meeting held on December 19, 2024, these IPS officers of AGMUT cadre, currently posted in the cadre, are hereby promoted to the IGP Grade (Level-14 in the pay matrix) with effect from January 1, 2025 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later,” read an order issued by MHA.

Through a separate order, two IPS officers from J&K Vinod Kumar and Shri Ram Ambarkar Sinkar, among 19 officers from AGMUT cadre, have been promoted to DIG grade (Level 13A in the pay matrix) with effect from January 1, 2025.

Two IPS officers of erstwhile J&K cadre Sandeep Choudhary and Sargun Shukla were among 18 IPS officers of AGMUT cadre to get Selection Grade.
