4 injured in leopard attack in Ganderbal
Ganderbal, Apr 3: Two officials of the Wildlife Department and two women were among four persons injured in a leopard attack in the Fatehpora area of Ganderbal district on Wednesday.
Locals said that a leopard was seen roaming in the area on Wednesday morning, causing panic among the residents.
They said that they informed the Wildlife Department officials at the earliest.
Locals said that the leopard attacked the two Wildlife Department officials as they were laying a trap to capture the wild cat.
Two women were also injured in the leopard attack.
All four injured were shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal for medical aid.
After strenuous efforts, the animal was captured alive by the rescue teams of the Wildlife Department, Police, and Forest Protection Force.
The Wildlife authorities have advised people to take precautions while venturing out during the evening and inform the Wildlife Department about the presence of any wild animals.
