4 gamblers arrested in Ganderbal | Stake money seized

Ganderbal, Feb 21: Police in Ganderbal have arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.

Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities on a link road at Barkati Mohalla Safapora-Hakbara, a police party of PS Safapora headed by SHO PS Safapora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal raided the specific spot and apprehended 4 gamblers and recovered stake money of ₹5800 and playing cards from their possession.

They have been identified as Hilal Ahmad Malla resident of Chandergair, Sajad Ahmad Sagoo resident of Hakbara, Mohd Ramzan Fafoo resident of Hakbara and Gh Qadir Shairgojree resident of Hakbara.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Safapora and investigation has been initiated.

“Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units,” police said.
