4 gamblers arrested in Baramulla | Stake money seized

Baramulla, Apr 7: Police in Baramulla have arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.

Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards near Kuta Morh Pattan, a police party headed by SHO PS Pattan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan raided the specific spot and apprehended 4 gamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 5300 and playing cards from their possession. They have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Darzi, resident of Pattan, Hilal Ahmad Sofi @ Pinna,  resident of Sofi Mohalla Pattan, Bashir Ahmad Gojri,  resident of Jamia Mohalla Pattan and Zahoor Ahmad Sofi @ DC,  resident of Pattan. They have been shifted to PS Pattan where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated.

"Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units," police said.
