4 gamblers arrested in Baramulla | Stake money seized

Baramulla, Feb 5: Police in Baramulla arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.

Acting on specific information about gambling activities at Zoogiyar Sheeri, a police party of PS Sheeri headed by SHO PS Sheeri raided the gambling site and arrested four gamblers. They have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh resident of Pehliharan, Irshad Ahmad Tantray resident of Zoogiyar, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat and Gh Nabi Malik, both residents of Zandfaran Sheeri.

Officers have seized stake money of Rs 6,020 and playing cards from their possession.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been initiated. “People found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units,” police said.
