4 drug peddlers arrested in separate incidents in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 12: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 4 drug peddlers in Baramulla, Kulgam and Spore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Station Chandoosa headed by SHO PS Chandoosa, at a checkpoint established at Galibal Chandoosa, intercepted two persons identified as Abdul Qayoom Lone resident of Shirpora and Mudasir Ahmad Dar, resident of Heewan Sheeri. During the search, 36 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Chandoosa where they remain in custody.

Similarly in Kulgam, a Police party of PS Kulgam, during patrolling at Hadigam, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Farooq Ahmad Thoker, resident of Hadigam. During his personal search, 700 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Kulgam where he remains in custody.

Meanwhile in Sopore, a Police party of Police Station Bomai, at a checkpoint established at Zonipora Crossing, Tujjer Shareef, arrested a drug peddler identified as Irfan Ahmad Pir @Bit Pir, resident of Tujjer Shareef Sopore. During the search, 560 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
