4 die, 12 injured in Kishtwar road accident

Ramban, Dec 4: Four persons died and 12 others were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Dangdoru area of Dacchan in Kishtwar district late Wednesday evening.

Official sources said a mini bus (cruiser) bearing registration number JK17-6576 carrying workers of under construction power project Dangdoru met with an accident near Treethal Nullah in Dachhan. They said on getting information from locals, Police and volunteers reached the spot and started a rescue operation.

A rescuer informed over the phone that four persons died and around one dozen workers sustained injuries in this accident. A police official informed that 10 injured persons have been brought to District Hospital Kishtwar so far. The condition of a few injured workers is stated to be critical.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar and other officers both from police and district administration is monitoring relief operations at District Hospital Kishtwar. More details are awaited.
