4 children sustain burn injuries in Handwara
Kupwara, Oct 29: Four children sustained burn injuries in the Kulangam area of Handwara on Wednesday evening and were rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment.
A senior police officer told Greater Kashmir that the incident occurred when the children were reportedly playing with fire, resulting in minor burn injuries.
Superintendent of Associated District Hospital, GMC Handwara, Dr Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, confirmed that four children with burn injuries were received at the facility.
“After being given primary treatment, all four were referred to SKIMS Soura for plastic surgery, as they had sustained burn injuries on their faces and hands,” Dr Bhat said.
The injured were identified as Uzair Tahir, son of Tahir Ahmad Bhat; Sajid Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid Sofi; Hazim Shabir, son of Shabir Ahmad Beigh; and Zeyan Tahir, son of Tahir Ahmad Bhat — all residents of Kulangam, Handwara.
