Ramban, Oct 25: In a swift and coordinated operation, Katra Police arrested four individuals for possessing and allegedly using weapons illegally. The action followed credible information received by Police Station Katra, police said on Saturday.

Police sources said that acting promptly, a case FIR No. 286/2025 was registered under Sections 351(2)/126(2)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 4/25 of the Arms Act.

A special police team was immediately constituted, which conducted raids at suspected locations and successfully apprehended the accused within an hour.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Karan Masih, son of Sanju Masih, resident of Counter No. 2, Katra, Jasvinder Singh @ Sundri, son of Ganga Singh, resident of Sarna, Katra, Rajinder Singh Jamwal, son of Karan Singh Jamwal, resident of Pamote, Katra, and Satish Kumar, son of Rakesh Kumar, resident of Katra.

Police said that three of the arrested persons — Karan Masih, Jasvinder Singh, and Rajinder Singh — have previous criminal records and were earlier involved in several cases in Katra and adjoining areas.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of SHO Police Station Katra, Inspector Khyatiman Khajuria, under the close supervision of senior officers.

SSP Reasi, Parampveer Singh, reaffirmed the district police’s commitment to maintaining law and order, curbing illegal activities, and ensuring the safety and security of citizens. He stated that strict action would continue against individuals involved in criminal and anti-social activities.
