4 absconders arrested in Ramban

Ramban, July 18: Ramban Police arrested four absconders, including three of them after a gap of 24 years and one after 11 years on Thursday.

Police sources said Ramban Police arrested four absconders. The said three were evading arrest for last 24 years and one was evading arrest for last 11 years.

They said absconders were arrested after a special police team was constituted by the SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar. Earlier general warrants of arrest against these four absconders were also issued by the court.

They said a dedicated team of Police Station Ramban by using advanced technical assistance arrested all the four absconders. They said Firoz Ahmed son of Gulam Rasool, from Kulgam was involved in FIR No. 177 of 2000 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act, Faiz Ulla, son of Abdulla Wani from Kulgam, Ghulam Nabi, son of Ghulam Qadir Wani from Kulgam,both were involved in FIR No. 77 of 2000 under section 279/427 RPC and Sonu, son of Karan Singh from Palampura, Kulgam was involved in FIR No. 73/2013 under sections 279/337/338 RPC.

They further said that Parveen Kumar, son of Daleep Singh from Teli Bagwara, Hamirpur,Himachal Pradesh was involved in FIR No. 92 of /2011under section 8/15 NDPS Act, was found to have passed away; hence, the search for him was closed upon verification of his death certificate, and a report was submitted to the court of law.

The arrested individuals were produced before the court of law for further legal proceedings on Friday.
