3D-hologram resurrects UAE's Ist President at COP28 opening

New Delhi, Dec 1: At the inaugural of COP28, the UAE showcased a remarkable technological feat, as the first president of UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Nahyan, took the stage through a #D hologram following President Mohamed Bin Zayed’s opening speech as reported by BBC.

The organizers of the climate summit utilized advanced 3D hologram technology to bring to life the image of the late Sheikh Zayed, who holds the position of the founding father of the UAE. This unique presentation added a historic touch to the event, with Sheikh Zayed delivering an address despite no longer being physically present.

This is not the inaugural instance of the UAE employing holographic technology to feature Sheikh Zayed in a public setting. In 2018, a team of computer graphic artists and 3D experts invested 400 hours in researching educational speeches delivered by Sheikh Zayed.

The result was a four-minute video aired at an event that replicated the late leader's hand gestures and head movements, providing a lifelike representation for the audience.

The use of 3D holograms to resurrect historical figures for public appearances reflects the UAE's commitment to innovation and technology. This latest manifestation at COP28 adds a layer of significance, employing cutting-edge technology to deliver a powerful message at the climate summit.
