36 persons conferred State Awards

Srinagar, Jan 25: Thirty-six persons have been conferred with J&K Government Awards on the Republic Day 2024.

According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), late Head Constable Abdul Majeed son of Muhammad Rashid of Ajote, Haveli, Poonch has been awarded (posthumously) in the category of Award for Achievements in the Field of Bravery that carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a citation to the awardee.

Mohan Singh (Dogri writer), Mansha Khaki (Gojri writer), Inderjeet Kesar (retired JKAS officer), and

Brij Nath Pandit Betab (Dogri writer) has been awarded in the category of Award for Achievements in the Field of Literature which carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation to each awardee.

Gulzar Ganaie (film and television actor), Kartar Chand (Pahari singer), Pawan Verma (theatre artist), Kuldeep Raina (actor and director), and Munir Ahmad Mir (vocalist and music composer) have been awarded in the category of Award for Performing Arts that carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation to each awardee.

Neelam Rani (Basohli Pashmina weaver), Sonam Jamwal (Basohli painting), K K Gandhi (art), and

Riyaz Ahmad Khan (art and papier-mâché craft) has been awarded in the category of the Award for Excellence in Arts and Crafts which carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation to each awardee.

J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, Rohit Sharma Shastri, son of Radha Krishan of Raipur, Bantalab, Jammu, and Sandhya Dhar of Jammu Institute of General Education and Rehabilitation have been awarded in the category of Award for Social Reforms and Empowerment that carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation to each awardee.

Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur and Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board Rahul Singh have been awarded in the category of Award for Meritorious Public Service that carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation to each awardee.

S P Varma was awarded in the Award for Lifetime Achievements which carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation to the awardee.

Sheetal Devi (para archery), Falail Singh (mountaineer), Amir Ahmad Bhat (para shooting), Rakshinda Mehak (deaf judo), Abdul Salha Sher Gujri (football), Suvidha Sarin (roll ball), Sajad Hussain Parray (football), Villayat Hussain (kayaking and canoeing), Kyran Gupta (roller skating), and Aneesha Sharma (rifle shooting) have been awarded in the Award for Outstanding Sportspersons that carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation to the awardee.

Faza Zainab, Editor-in-Chief, Asian News Hub; Sameer Bhatt, Chief Correspondent, News 18 Urdu; Gursimran Singh, Senior Correspondent, Republic TV; Danish Manzoor Bhat, Editor South Asia, Newsweek Magazine; Ajay Jandyal, Bureau Chief, News X, India News and Vishal Bharti, Bureau Head, UNI, Jammu have been awarded in the category of Award for Outstanding Media Persons that carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation to the awardee.
