He commended the Gujarat Police ATS and the Indian Coast Guard for their swift and coordinated response, which led to the successful interception and seizure. Officials said the narcotics were being transported via maritime routes, a method increasingly used by international drug syndicates. The successful interdiction highlights the enhanced maritime surveillance and intelligence-sharing mechanisms being employed under the centre’s anti-drug strategy. This marks one of the largest in recent years and is part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking networks operating across India’s coasts and borders. The government has reiterated its commitment to continue dismantling narcotics networks, both domestic and international, with a zero-tolerance approach.
