30 new ventures sanctioned under KVIB scheme in Poonch
Poonch, Sep 8: In a significant boost to self-employment and entrepreneurship, 30 loan cases have been approved under the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP), implemented by the Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB).
The interviews for these cases were conducted at the Dak Bungalow, where applicants sought support to establish a variety of business and industrial units.
The selection panel included District Social Welfare Officer Khalil A. Banday, Project Manager District Industries Centre Jagdeep Singh, ITI Superintendent, representatives from the banking sector, and the District Head of KVIB, ensuring transparency and fairness in the process.
The government-sponsored scheme provides financial assistance with a 35% subsidy, helping aspiring entrepreneurs reduce capital investment costs while establishing viable business units. The initiative aims to generate new livelihood opportunities, promote youth entrepreneurship, and strengthen the district’s local economy.
Officials said the approved ventures are expected to enhance self-reliance among residents and contribute significantly to Poonch’s overall industrial and economic growth.
