3 vehicles seized over illegal transportation of minerals in Shopian

Shopian, Aug 25: Police in Shopian seized 3 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

A police party of Police Post Keegam seized 3 vehicles bearing registration numbers JK22B- 9969(JCB), CH No. 2464 & JK13H-3317 (Tractors), indulging  in illegal extraction of minerals at Nusipora in the jurisdiction of Police Post Keegam.

The vehicles were immediately handed over to the officials of Geological and Mining Department for seizure and necessary legal action against the vehicle owners and drivers.

"Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned Police units," police said.
