3 terrorists killed in Keran sector: Army
Kupwara, July 14: The Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, resulting in the killing of three terrorists.
The ongoing operation, named Operation Dhanush-II, commenced after the Army detected suspicious movements near the fence along the LoC.
The operation began on Sunday when troops observed suspicious activity and challenged the intruders. The terrorists responded with gunfire, prompting the soldiers to retaliate.
The ensuing encounter led to the killing of three infiltrators.
The Army has recovered weapons and other war-like stores from the site of the encounter.

The operation is still in progress as security forces continue to scour the area for any remaining threats.
The Army's vigilance and swift action have once again demonstrated their commitment to securing the LoC and preventing any infiltration attempts.
Earlier, on Saturday Army said that the infiltration bid had been foiled.
“Operation Dhanush-II, KERAN Kupwara: An Infiltration bid has been foiled today on the LoC in the Keran sector in Kupwara. Operations are in progress #Kashmir @adgpi @NorthernComd_IA,” it said in a post on X.
The Keran sector, located in the Kupwara district, has been a frequent site of infiltration attempts due to its challenging terrain and proximity to the LoC.
The Army's proactive operations in this region are crucial in deterring terrorist activities and ensuring the safety of the civilian population.
