3 Punjab men arrested with arms, cash in Poonch
Poonch, Nov 16: Three men hailing from Punjab have been attested by forces in Poonch's Surankote after recovery of arms and cash from their possession.
Trio is suspected to be a part of a gang, moving in a vehicle on a highway in Surankote.
As per officials, a police naka was laid at Mirza Morh in Surankote and during checking of vehicles, one car UP16BP 2190 was signalled to stop and during checking, cash worth Rs 2.80 lakh was recovered.
They have been identified as Kanwaljeet Singh, son of Ranjit Singh, resident of village Dharmu Chak, Amritsar; Mandeep Singh alias Sidhu, son of Jaswant Singh, resident of Jilal Amritsar and Harmanpreet Singh, son of Kewal Singh, resident of Bujjiwali, Gurdaspur.
Officials stated that necessary verification of their identities and character antecedents was conducted in the parent state and it was found that they were active members of a criminal gang.
Furthermore, officials stated, two pistols along with live ammunition were recovered on their disclosure and a case under relevant sections of law was registered.
