3 of family die in Reasi accident

Rajouri, Jan 6: A husband-wife duo and their minor child died while one person was injured in a road accident that took place at Chassana in Reasi district on Saturday.

“The accident took place this afternoon when a vehicle, bearing registration number JK01V 8022, on its way from Tulli towards Chassana, fell in a deep gorge near Zero Point Chassana,” officials said.

In the accident, three persons died on the spot.

Officials identified the deceased as Zahid Ahmed, 27, son of Abdul Kareem of Balmatkote, Mahore; his wife SairaAkhter, 26, and their three-month-old child.

The injured has been identified as Irfan Ahmed, 22, son of Abdul Rashid of Dewal, Mahore.

“He was seriously injured and was taken to PHC Gota for treatment. However, given his condition, he has been further referred to a higher medical facility,” officials said.
