3 houses gutted in Parimpora blaze

They said the Fire and Emergency units responded swiftly and prevented fire from spreading further.

Srinagar, July 2: At least three residential houses were gutted in a fire incident at Parimpora locality on city outskirts.

As per the officials of Fire and Emergency Services, the fire incident occurred in afternoon and gutted three houses located adjacent to each other. The officials said that they received the information about the fire at around 1:25 pm. They said that multiple fire tenders from Headquarters, Rawalpora, Safa Kadal, JVC were pressed to douse off the fire.

“These were one double-story and two single-story houses that were gutted in the fire incident. The fire started from one of the houses and soon spread to adjacent houses. As per our investigation, the electric short circuit caused the fire in one of the houses and soon spread across other houses,” said the official.

They said the Fire and Emergency units responded swiftly and prevented fire from spreading further.

The fire victims said they lost all their belongings and requested help from authorities. They said that despite attempts by Fire and Emergency officials and locals, the fire destroyed all the belongings in the house.

“We were having lunch when someone from outside informed us about the fire. It soon engulfed one of the residential houses and spread to others. We couldn’t save any of our belongings,” said a victim.
