3 gamblers arrested in Baramulla | Stake money seized

Baramulla, Feb 28: Police in Baramulla have arrested 3 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.

Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards of Takiya Wagoora, a police party headed by incharge PP Wagoora under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri raided the specific spot and apprehended 3 gamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 2490 and playing cards from their possession. They have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Shah, Yawar Ahmad Shah and Riyaz Ahmad Shah, all residents of Takiya Wagoora. They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kreeri and investigation has been initiated.

“Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units,” police said.
