3 employees fined at MC Watergam for smoking inside office

Sopore, Feb 19: Addl Deputy Commissioner Sopore S A Raina made a surprise visit to the Municipal Committee Office Watergam here in north Kashmir’s Rafiabad on Monday.

ADC after examining the office found 3 employees smoking inside the office and accordingly asked Tehsildar Watergam to impose a penalty upon them to the amount of Rs 500 per head and deposit the same into the account of Chairman District Red Cross Society Baramulla immediately.

Meanwhile, during ADC’s visit various issues were discussed with the Tehsildar and Executive officer Watregam. Later on EO MC Watregam was asked to deploy men and machinery for snow clearance from the inner links of Watergam town.

Later, ADC also visited the upper areas of Dangiwacha Rafiabad belt and examined the overall facilities being provided by the government during this fresh snowfall.

ADC found clearance of snow from the roads was under process in the upper belt of Rafiabad. ADC also examined the power supply in the area and found many electric feeders are out of order for which PDD was ordered to start immediate restoration work on these feeders so that the electricity will be restored by tonight.

During this visit Nayabat Harduchanam office in Rafiabad was found closed for which Tehsildar Dangiwacha was asked to explain the reasons and seek explanation.
