3 drug peddlers arrested in Handwara
Kupwara, Nov 2: Three drug peddlers were arrested in the Kralgund area of Handwara, located in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said on Saturday.
A police officer stated that, following specific information about the movement of drug peddlers, a special checkpoint led by the SHO of Kralgund was established at Ananwan Crossing.
“During the checking, three individuals were apprehended: Irshad Ahmad Gazi, Sajad Ahmad Rather; both residents of Kralpora Kralgund; and Syed Anwar Geelani, an SPO currently posted in Kupwara, a resident of Tangwari Kunnel,” he said.
“During their personal search, 105 grams of a charas-like substance were recovered from their possession. All the accused were arrested on the spot,” he added.
A case has been registered at Police Station Kralgund, and further investigation has been initiated.
