3 booked for impersonating as terrorist commanders
Rajouri, Mar 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police Tuesday booked three persons for generating a fake terror threat while impersonating terrorist commanders in the Chassana area of the Mahore subdivision in Reasi district.
A case under relevant sections of law was registered at Chassana Police Station.
The Police officials said, “Jahangir Ahmad, son of Ibrahim of Malikote lodged a Police complaint stating that he received a terror threat from an area commander, who warned him of dire consequences vis-à-vis some matrimonial issue.”
They said that following this complaint an investigation was started, which, however, turned inversely and the needle of suspicion turned towards the complainant.
“It was found that during investigation the complainant along with two more local men hatched a conspiracy to target Showkat Ali and Bashir Ahmad and created a fake terror threat by impersonating as terrorist commanders,” the officials said. “The three accused created a fake terror threat message and circulated it from one mobile phone to another to give it a realistic look. Upon this, a case FIR No 12/2024 under relevant sections of law including 419, 177, 182, 506, 507, and 109 was registered at Police Station Chassana. All three accused – Jahangir Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad, and Fayaz Ahmed were booked.”
SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma said, “Such acts are not acceptable and any person involved in any kind of rumour mongering will be dealt with strictly under relevant laws.”
