3 bodies recovered, 4 still missing after catastrophic cloudburst in Rajgarh

Ramban, Aug 28: On the third day of catastrophic cloudburst that occurred in Panchayats Kumait, Dhraman and Halla in Rajgarh tehsil in Ramban district on Monday, rescue teams recovered another body on Wednesday.

Official sources said rescue teams recovered one more body of Shazia Banoo (6) daughter of Sajjad Ahmed Shan a resident of Dungar Dhandla, Rajgarh around two kms away from downstream in rubble in Rajgarh area.

Sources said Shazia Banoo along with other family members was heading to her house when cloudburst hit the area and she along with other people swept away in rubble, flash floods.

They said three bodies had been recovered so far even as rescue operation in the disaster-affected area in Rajgarh is still underway to trace out other missing people.

Tehsildar Rajgarh, Major Singh confirmed that the rescue teams of UTDRF , Police , and local volunteers recovered the body of a minor girl of Dungar Dhandla, Rajgarh from the debris on Wednesday morning.

Singh said as of now we have recovered three bodies , four people are still missing.

He said a 25 member’s team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) which was requisitioned by the district administration Ramban also reached the disaster affected area in Rajgarh to trace out missing persons swept away in flash floods after cloudburst on Monday.
