3 arrested with counterfeit gold biscuits in Kupwara: Police
Kupwara, Sep 12: Three persons were held with counterfeit gold biscuits in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Police said on Thursday.
A Police spokesperson said that following credible information about illegal trade of counterfeit gold biscuits, Police Station Lalpora launched a swift operation today leading to the arrest of three individuals suspected of being involved in the illicit trade.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rayaz Ahmad War, Noor Mohammad Lohar and Bashir Ahmad Khan, all residents of Dever Lolab. “The trio was put to sustained questioning during which they confessed to their involvement in this illegal trade. A total of 153 spurious gold biscuits were recovered from their possession," he added.
He said that further investigation has been intensified and more arrests can't be ruled out in the case.
