28 JKP personnel honoured with Gallantry, Service medals on Republic Day
Srinagar, Jan 25: In a proud moment for the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 28 personnel have been conferred awards on the eve of Republic Day 2025, recognising their exemplary service and gallantry.
The honours include 15 Gallantry Medals (GM), two President’s Medals for Distinguished Service (PSM), and 10 Medals for Meritorious Service (MSM). Among the distinguished awardees are senior officers Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law and Order, Vijay Kumar, ADGP Jammu, Anand Jain, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar and former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Rakesh Balwal. These officers were acknowledged for their leadership and significant contributions to law enforcement in the region.
The Gallantry Medals were awarded to the following personnel for their outstanding bravery and dedication in the line of duty, Azhar Rashid, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Maajid Afzal Wani, Head Constable Safeer Lone, Constable Shahnawaz Ahmad Deedad, Constable, Suresh Kumar Bhat, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Aqib Qayoom Yatoo, SgCT, Manzoor Ahmad Bajard, SgCT, Vijay Kumar, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Rakesh Balwal, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Iftkhar Talib, Superintendent of Police, Faroz Ahmad Dar, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Sudish Singh, Head Constable
Pawan Kumar, Head Constable, Irshad Ahmad Lohar, SgCT, Late Himayun Muzzammil, Deputy Superintendent of Police (posthumously).

The President’s Medals for Distinguished Service were awarded to, ADGP Vijay Kumar, Law and Order ,ADGP Anand Jain, Jammu, These medals recognise their outstanding leadership, dedication, and long-standing service to the force.
