25th Kargil Vijay Diwas : Mahindra & Mahindra hosts car rally to Drass

Udhampur, July 13: To commemorate the 25th anniversary of India's victory in the Kargil War, Mahindra & Mahindra Group, in close collaboration with the Indian army, is hosting a special ‘Heart to Bravehearts car rally.’

The rally, which reached here on Friday, was flagged off from Udhampur on Saturday (July 13, 2024) by Lt Gen Vijay B Nair, COS, HQ Northern Command, on behalf of the GOC-in-C Northern Command.

He commended the team for undertaking this remarkable pan India journey, underscoring the profound message of ‘Unity in Diversity.’

He also applauded the pivotal role played by Mahindra & Mahindra Group in spearheading this national initiative to honour the valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces personnel during the Kargil war.

The rally, which commenced from three corners of the country, will culminate at Drass on July 15, 2024. The pan India car rally embarked on three distinct routes originating from Tanot in the west, Tezu in the east, and Kochi in the south, converging at New Delhi on July 8, 2024. From there, a unified car rally started its journey towards Drass via Udhampur.

“The car rally commemorates the resounding victory of the Armed Forces in the Kargil war and pays homage to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. Spanning a vast distance across the plains of Haryana, Punjab, and the challenging terrain of Jammu & Kashmir, the rally arrived at the Udhampur Military Station on July 12, 2024,” said PRO Defence Lt Col Suneel Bartwal.

Along the route, the team engaged with NCC cadets, students from schools and colleges, ex-servicemen, and Veer Naris.
