24th Junior National Wushu Championship J&K junior Wushu selection trials on June 4–5 at SKISC Srinagar
Srinagar, Jun 1: The Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir is set to conduct selection trials for the Junior UT Wushu team on June 4 and 5 at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex (SKISC), Srinagar.
As per a statement issued on Sunday, these trials are being held in preparation for the 24th Junior National Wushu Championship, scheduled to take place from July 1 to 6, 2025, at Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad, Telangana. The event is being hosted by the Wushu Association of Telangana under the aegis of the Wushu Association of India.
The statement states that the trials aim to shortlist athletes who will represent Jammu and Kashmir at the national level. Following the selection, a coaching camp will be organised by the J&K Sports Council, with Sanda athletes to train in Srinagar and Taolu athletes in Jammu.
The selection committee for the junior category includes Kuldeep Handoo as chairman, while Rajinder Singh, Maqsood Rather, Kamal Kishore, Irfan Ahmed, Yash Pal, Rameez and Ajaz Hassan are the members of the committee.
The J&K wushu association has stated that participants were required to bring a valid medical fitness certificate and original proof of date of birth for verification during the trials.
