20 injured in Uri road mishap

Baramulla, Sep 27: At least 20 people were injured in a road accident in the Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.

An official, while confirming the incident, said that the road mishap occurred during a rally for Taj Mohi Ud Din, when a vehicle that was part of the rally, coming from Kamalkote to Uri, met with an accident near the Salamabad area.

All twenty injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital, from where four critically injured individuals were referred to GMC Baramulla for advanced treatment.

"Twenty persons were injured in the accident. Four of the injured who suffered critical injuries were shifted to GMC Baramulla," said the official.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case in connection with the incident and have started further investigation.
