2 persons stuck in accident-hit tipper at Nowshera rescued

Srinagar, Feb 9: Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) department rescued two persons after they were stuck inside a tipper after an accident at Nowshera area.

As per the officials, the rescue operation was carried out by the F&E Services team on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

An official told Greater Kashmir that they received information about the incident at around 12:15 am. “We were told that a tipper had met with an accident at Nowshera. The vehicle had turned turtle, and we used our special rescue equipment to rescue the driver and his helper,” said an official.

The official said that a vehicle and a specialized rescue tender were pressed into service to carry out the operation.

The official said that the two persons were identified as Lateef Ahmad Bhat and Arif Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Budgam. The tipper bearing registration number JK04 7173, had turned turtle near Nowshera marriage hall.

Meanwhile, the locals and the family members of both persons hailed the rescue team for safely retrieving both persons. Officials said that rescued persons are doing well and are with their respective families now.
