2 people apprehended with narcotics in Kupwara

Kupwara, Dec 17: In a significant development against the drug menace, Kupwara Police today apprehended two suspicious individuals at Khazanmatti Checkpoint under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kralpora.

The individuals have been identified as Aasim Sultan Sheikh, resident of Trehgam, aged 25 years, and Mujtahid Nazir, resident of Khumriyal, aged 19 years.

During their personal search, approximately 13 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession. Subsequently, Case FIR No 108/2024 under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kralpora. Further investigation has been initiated to establish the links to the drug trade and uncover any networks involved.
