2 mild intensity earthquakes hit Ladakh

Kargil, Dec 2: Two earthquakes of mild intensity hit Ladakh region on Saturday.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale struck Ladakh this morning. The tremors were felt in the region at 8.25 AM , according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The epicentre was located at a latitude of 35.44 and a longitude of 77.36, with a depth of 10 km. Another earthquake of a slightly higher intensity hit the Leh, Ladakh in the afternoon. " Earthquake of Magnitude:3.7, Occurred on 02-12-2023, 16:29:34 IST, Lat: 35.23 & Long: 77.59, Depth: 5 Km , Region: Leh,

Ladakh," NCS said on X. However there were no reports of any damage caused by the earthquakes. Pertinently, the Ladakh region in the recent past has been hit by several earthquakes, however without causing any damage.
