2 labourers drown in Rajouri river

Rajouri, May 16: Two Poonch youth working as labourers at a road construction site in Dalogra village of Rajouri died after drowning in a river.

They were taking bath in river after day long work at road construction site. The mishap occurred behind Bholi Mata Ashram.

SHO Rajouri, Anurag Daru (IPS) told that an information was received that two youth have drowned in river after which teams of SDRF, Police, CRPF and locals launched a joint rescue and search operation that continued for hours.

"Bodies of both the deceased were recovered from the incident site by locals divers and divers of SDRF," said SHO Rajouri.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad d Imran (18) son of Bagh Hussain resident of Salooni Mandi and Tariq Hussain (19) son of Sahad Hussain resident of Dara Dulian, Poonch.

Police has registered a case and started investigations.
