2 killed in Udhampur, Samba mishaps

Jammu, Mar 2: Two persons were killed in two different mishaps in Udhampur and Samba districts on Saturday.

In the first incident, police said a tanker driver was killed when he lost control over wheels and his tanker crashed against a hillock near Mouni pass on Srinagar Jammu National Highway.

“The tanker was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar when the mishap occurred. The body of the deceased driver was shifted to Government Medical College (associated hospital), Udhampur for conducting post-mortem. Identity of the deceased is being ascertained and a case in this connection has been registered,” police said.

In the second incident, an unidentified man was run over by a train near Vijaypur in Samba district. “The body of the deceased man was found on the tracks this morning. His identity could not be ascertained. It was shifted to Samba district hospital for autopsy,” Railway Police officials said.
