2 killed in Kishtwar road accident
Ramban, Oct 29: Two pedestrians were killed after a speedy tipper hit them at Drabshalla area of Thathri in Doda district on Batote -Kishtwar National Highway on Tuesday afternoon.
Police sources quoting eyewitness said a rashly and negligently driven tipper bearing registration number JK17 A-2841 loaded with some construction material went out of control of its driver. The vehicle rammed into two shops alongside the road and hit two pedestrian. They were critically injured.
On getting information about the accident, locals and police reached the spot and immediately shifted both the critically injured to nearby Government Hospital at Thathari but they were declared brought dead by the doctors.
The deceased were identified as Bilalal Ahmad son of Gulam Mustafa and Ishrat Hussain son of Mohammad Haneif both residents of Changa,Bhaleesa district ,Doda
They said family members of both deceased persons were informed and they are on their way to Thathri. Police said after proper identification and completion of legal formalities bodies would be handed over to legal heirs.
An official at Police Control Room Doda informed that the driver involved in the accident was detained and a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station, Thathri, Doda for further investigations.
