2 drug peddlers arrested: Police

Srinagar, Jan 17: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Srinagar and Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a press release said.

In Srinagar, a police team at a checkpoint established at SKIMS Chowk Soura near Hospital Gate intercepted a suspicious person. During search, substantial quantity of contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Rouf Ahmed Zargar of Manigam Ganderbal.

In Handwara, a police team at a checkpoint established at Resripora Kralgund intercepted a suspicious person identified as Danish Ahmad Mir of Kralgund.

During search, 110 grams of contraband charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.

Both the drug peddlers were arrested and cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
