2 drivers arrested for illegal transportation of minerals

Srinagar, Nov 26: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 2 vehicles and arrested 2 persons in Baramulla.

A police party of PS Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg, seized 2 vehicles (tractors) and arrested their drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Nallah. They have been identified as Mehraj Ahmad Ganie resident of Ichloo and Muntazir Ahmad Sheikh resident of Ferozpora. They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tangmarg and investigation has been taken up.
“Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighborhood with their concerned police units” police said.
