Ramban, Jan 9: Two persons died in two separate road accidents in Kishtwar and Ramban districts on Thursday, official sources said.

Police sources said a tipper (Dumper) on its way to the muck dumping site of Kiru Power Project Kishtwar went out of control of its driver and slipped into a gorge. One person died on the spot.

They said on getting information police, locals and workers of Kiru Power Project reached the spot and after hectic efforts and with the help of JCB Machine retrieved the body of the deceased driver.

Police identified the deceased driver as Imtyaz Ahmed son of Abdul Rehman Khan a resident of Doda.

They said the body was shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for postmortem and other legal formalities.

In another accident, One person died on spot after a tempo traveler he was driving, plunged into a gorge at Mohalnal Bass,  Senabathi, in the Paristan area of Ukhral tehsil in Ramban district late Thursday evening.

Police sources said at around 6 pm a vehicle (Tempo) bearing registration number  JK12-6977 went out of control of its driver and plunged into a gorge at Mohalnal Partisan. The driver of the vehicle died  on spot.

They said on getting information a police team from Police Station Ukhral rushed to the spot and with the help of locals of the area retrieved the body of deceased from the gorge. The vehicle was on its way from Ukhral to Senabathi when the driver lost control, leading to instant death of the driver. The driver was traveling alone when this accident happened.

Police identified the deceased driver as Kailesh Singh, 35, son of Parbhat Singh, a resident of Kothyar . Panchayat Pingloga tehsil Ukhral.   SHO Police Station Ramsu Inspector Nayeem Matoo confirmed the incident and said the body of the deceased driver was handed over to legal heirs after conducting postmortem and other legal formalities late this evening.
