2 commercial structures gutted in Rajbagh blaze
Srinagar, May 28: Two multi-storey commercial structures were engulfed in a massive fire that broke out in Srinagar's Rajbagh area on Tuesday evening. According to fire and emergency services officials, the alert was raised around 7:24 pm, prompting a swift response from multiple fire tenders.
The blaze initially ignited the attic portion of one building before rapidly spreading to an adjacent commercial structure. Firefighters faced an uphill battle as the flames raged through the densely packed district.
"We immediately dispatched fire tenders from Headquarters, Babademb, Gawkadal, Rawalpora, and other nearby stations," said a Fire and Emergency Services official. "The attic portions of two commercial buildings have been gutted, and unfortunately, two of our brave firefighters sustained injuries while combating the intense flames."
