2 cartridges recovered from MLA Veeri’s baggage at Srinagar Airport

Srinagar, Oct 27: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Bijbehera, Bashir Ahmad Shah (Veeri) was detained at Srinagar Airport following the recovery of two bullets from his luggage on Sunday.

A senior Police officer said, “He has been asked to present the license authorisation. Based on the same matter, the case will proceed accordingly.”

According to the details, MLA Veeri was on his way to Jammu and during the normal scanning of his baggage at the airport, two rounds of ammunition were found inside his bag.

He was detained for questioning and taken to Humhama Police Post.

When contacted, MLA Veeri said, “Cartridges found in my bag were of my licensed revolver and these had come into my language inadvertently. The matter has been resolved.”
