2 arrested with heroin at Tikri
Ramban, Dec 8: Udhampur Police arrested two passengers after they recovered 17.67 grams of contraband (heroin) during a naka checking at Tikri on Srinagar Jammu National Highway on Sunday.
Police sources said a Police team led by Incharge Police Post Tikri intercepted a Srinagar bound vehicle (Tavera) bearing registration number JK01S- 8557, during frisking of the passengers and driver 17.67 grams of contraband (Heroin) was recovered from two passengers. Police said both inter district narco smugglers were smuggling it to Kashmir.
They were arrested. Both were identified as Abid Hussain son of Peer Siraj Din resident of Soaf Shalli, Anantnag and Mohsin Mohidin son of Ghulam Mohidin resident of New Colony Anantnag. They said a case FIR No. 248 of 2024 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Rehambal, Udhampur for further investigation.
