Samba, Oct 13: Police Sunday arrested two notorious thieves and recovered stolen items from their possession in Vijaypur of Samba district.

“On October 12, 2024, a written complaint was lodged by one Muhammad Yaseen, son of Muhammad Younus, resident of Shah Talab Bari Brahmana regarding the theft of electronic items from his private school at Ranjari including LCD and Printer,” a Police spokesperson said.

Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No 136/2024 U/S  331(4)/305 BNS was registered at Police Station Vijaypur and an investigation started.

“During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Vijaypur led by SHO Vijaypur after continuous strenuous efforts along with scrutiny of CCTV footage of various locations and technical analysis, rounded up several suspects for questioning,” he said.

Finally two suspects namely Atul Patyal alias Katti, son of Rishi Ram, resident of Patti Vijaypur, Samba, and Sanjay Kumar alias Pidu alias Sanju, son of Ram Lal, resident of Patti tehsil Vijaypur, district Samba confessed their involvement in this case, the spokesperson said.

On their disclosure, stolen items including LCD, Camera DVR, printer, etc valuing Rs 77,000 approximately were recovered from Patti.

“During further sustained questioning, Yamaha MT 150 Bike without registration number, Chassis No ME1RG6879P0009491, Engine No G3N4E0564513; two Exide batteries; Samsung Air Conditioner; Sony LED; Android mobile (Realme); Electronic Voltage Stabilizer; Sujata Mixer Grinder and Hero Honda Splendor bike without registration number, Chassis No MBLHA10EJ9HH00620, Engine No HA10EA9HH495212 were recovered from village Patti and were seized U/S 106 BNSS. Further investigation is going on,” a Police spokesperson said.
