19th death anniversary of ex-MLA Ghulam Nabi Dar
Srinagar, Jul 7: On the 19th death anniversary of Advocate Ghulam Nabi Dar, former District President Anantnag and former MLA Kulgam, the National Conference paid heartfelt tributes to the late leader, who lost his life in a grenade blast in July 2006.
According to a press release, NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah hailed Dar as “an honest politician, an accomplished advocate, and a sincere soldier of the party.” He said Dar had dedicated his life to the socio-political upliftment of the downtrodden. “He shall be remembered for his industrious and undemanding personality. On this day, I pay my glowing tributes to him. May Almighty grant him the highest place in Jannat,” Dr Farooq said.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also praised Dar’s contributions, particularly his role in the development of Kulgam. “His dedicated work towards public welfare and his deep-rooted commitment to the party will always be remembered,” he said.
To mark the occasion, a Majlis-e-Fateha Khawani will be held at Dar's final resting place in Chawalgam Kulgam. Later the party president Dr Farooq Abdullah will address party workers from Kulgam constituency at Rest house Chawalgam, the press release said.
