Teen killed, another injured after scooter struck by vehicle in Bandipora
Bandipora, Oct 09: A teenager was killed and another injured after the scooter they were driving was struck by a Tata Mobile vehicle in Aloosa village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as 19-year-old Ubaid Khah, son of Manzoor Ahmad Khah, a resident of Aloosa Ghat.
Another youth, identified as Azad Gul, son of Gh Mohammad Matta, aged 18 and also from Aloosa Ghat, sustained injuries in the incident.
Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Bandipora, Dr Mukhtar, told Greater Kashmir that one youth was declared "brought dead" at the hospital.
“He had sustained trauma injuries to the chest,” the doctor said.
Dr Mukhtar added that the other youth was receiving treatment at the hospital and had suffered injuries to the head and leg. He said the teen was in stable condition.
The doctor said the families told them the teenagers, aged roughly between 18 and 19, were riding a scooty when the accident occurred.
SHO Aloosa confirmed to Greater Kashmir that the scooter was "struck by a Tata mobile vehicle."
He said the case in the incident has been registered.
